Flux 2 Pro, Running in Your Browser
Black Forest Labs shipped FLUX.2 in November 2025 as a lineup, not a single model. Editly hosts two of its tiers: Flux 2 Pro for fast production work and Flux 2 Flex for renders that have to carry legible type. Write the brief, attach up to eight reference images, pick 1K or 2K. No API key, no local GPU, nothing to install.
Flux 2 Pro vs. the Rest of the FLUX.2 Lineup
Five models ship under the FLUX.2 name and they are not interchangeable — two are hosted endpoints you can call today, two are weights you host yourself, and one sits at the top of the price list. Here is what Black Forest Labs publishes about each, and which of them Editly runs.

Running Flux 2 Pro on Editly: Three Steps
- 01
Pick the tier
Open the AI image generator and choose the Pro tier from the model list. Flux 2 Flex sits directly beside it with an identical form, so changing your mind later costs one click rather than a rewrite.
- 02
Write the brief, set the frame
The prompt box takes up to 5,000 characters — room for subject, lighting, lens, layout and any copy that has to appear in the image. Choose an aspect ratio, then set quality to 1K or 2K; the credit cost moves with that switch.
- 03
Attach references and generate
Editing an existing shot or matching an established look? Drop in up to eight reference images first. Then generate — results land in your library at full resolution, ready to download or feed back in as the next reference.
Flux 2 Pro Or Flux 2 Flex? Choose By The Job
On Editly the two tiers are the same form: same prompt limit, same eight aspect ratios, same 1K/2K switch, same eight reference slots. What actually differs is what Black Forest Labs runs behind the endpoint, and what that costs you per image.
Flux 2 Pro17 | Flux 2 Flex47 | |
|---|---|---|
| Best suited to | You are generating volume: concepts, listings, social, hero shots | The render has to carry legible copy or very fine detail |
| Credits at 1K | 17 | 47 |
| Credits at 2K | 25 | 80 |
| What BFL tunes behind it | Fixed production defaults, generation under 10 seconds | Inference steps up to 50 and a guidance scale from 1.5 to 10 |
| Exposed on the Editly form | Prompt, aspect ratio, 1K/2K, references | The same four — steps and guidance stay on BFL defaults |
| BFL list price | From $0.03 per megapixel | From $0.05 per megapixel |
| Cost of guessing wrong | Low enough to iterate, then re-run the keeper on Flex | Close to 3x the credits — spend it once the prompt is settled |
